Peggy Martin Wall
March 27, 1932 - February 15, 2021
Peggy Martin Wall, 88 of Kernersville, NC stepped into eternity Monday morning February 15th, 2021 at Hospice Home of High Point. Peggy was born March 27th, 1932 in Madison, NC to the late Burl and Hassie Martin. She was married to the late Thomas Allen Wall Sr. for 32 years. She was the last living sibling of 9 children in her family. She was dearly loved as mama, grandmama, great-grandmama and aunt. Her favorite Scripture was Psalm 100:4-5.
Tom and Peggy raised their family of 3 sons at 16th Street Baptist Church, Greensboro NC. Peggy served in numerous ministries including the Junior Department Sunday School Director, VBS Director, GA's and was the Director of the Nursery for many years. They also served the North Carolina Children's Home Society as Foster Parents for 16 infants. After her husband's death in 1985 she opened a licensed home daycare until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, the Blueridge Mountains and loved a good Southern Gospel Singing. Dementia had taken a toll on her the last several years but was known for the way she brightened a room with her smile and laughter. She was a member of Triad Baptist Church and enjoyed their worship services at Summerstone when she could not attend church in person.
Peggy is survived by 3 sons, T.A. Wall Jr., wife Theresa; Tim Wall, wife Cindy; Tony Wall, wife Lori. She has 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, Michelle Burnette (Allen), Addison & Camden; Ethan Wall (Anne-Christian), Blake Wall (Melanie), Levi Wall, LydiaFay Wall; Kyleigh Wall & Cameron Wall; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces, great nephews. 16 Foster Children from 1969 to 1972; Shirley, Sandie, Meg, Gordon, Buster, Paige, Jill, Beulah, Cliff, Wendell, Bea, Roger, Jackie, Penny, Jason & Peter.
A public graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Lakeview Memorial Park, Wednesday February 24th, 2021, Dr. Rob Decker, Triad Baptist Church officiating, assisted by Tim Wall and Rev. Allen Burnette.
Grateful to Dr. Baruch and the caregivers at Hospice of the Piedmont, as well as the individuals at Summerstone that provided heartfelt care-- Anthony, Evelyn, Glenda, Alecia, Charles, Phyllis, "Q", Kenyon, Destiny, Kathleen, Tamara, Angie, Howard and Teresa.
Peggy was a victim of the pandemic lockdown imposed on residents of long-term care facilities since March 2020. Her story was shared on the NC Senate Floor and across the nation, in fact her story was told in states where she had never physically traveled.
